Walberg-Backed SAVE Act Passes House

Washington, D.C. -- Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) released the following statement after the House passage of H.R. 8281, Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act:

“Only Americans should be voting in American elections. The SAVE Act strengthens election security by closing loopholes, requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, and requiring states to remove non-citizens from their voter rolls. I am proud to have supported the passage of the SAVE Act and will continue to fight to bolster election security.”

Speaker Mike Johnson recently released a report on the need to pass the SAVE Act.
