Walberg Applauds USMCA Trade Deal Becoming Law

January 29, 2020

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) released the following statement after President Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) into law today at a White House ceremony.

"Thanks to President Trump's leadership, NAFTA is finally a thing of the past. The USMCA delivers on a key promise to negotiate a stronger deal that benefits Michigan workers and levels the playing field with our neighbors. This bipartisan and long-awaited agreement will bring many economic benefits to our state, providing greater opportunity to sell American-made products and creating more good-paying jobs. With the USMCA now in place, today is a big milestone for farmers, workers, and manufacturers in Michigan."

Congressman Walberg serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Education and Labor Committee as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions. For more information on Walberg's work in Congress visit walberg.house.gov.
