Walberg Announces 2017 Service Academy Appointments

Jackson, MI—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) is pleased to announce the appointments of nine students from Michigan's 7th District to attend a U.S. military service academy.

"These young men and women are shining stars in the classroom and in the community," said Congressman Walberg. "They have shown exceptional dedication, character, and scholarship, and I applaud these students for receiving an appointment to one of our nation's top military academies. Our country is forever grateful for their commitment to service and a cause greater than themselves."

The following students were nominated by Congressman Walberg and received an offer of admission to an academy. Pictures of each student are available by clicking their name.

West Point
Zach Calderone – Jackson, Hanover-Horton High School
Ananth Ghosh – Chelsea, Chelsea High School
Emma Lawson – Monroe, Ida High School
Curtis Manore – Petersburg, Summerfield High School

Naval Academy
Jordan McGinnis – Ann Arbor, Dexter High School
Anthony Stone – Lansing, Lansing Catholic High School

Air Force Academy
Isaac Coolidge – Eaton Rapids, Eaton Rapids High School
Isaac Theisen – Monroe, St. Mary's Catholic Central
Faith Van Havel – Hudson, Hillsdale Academy
