Rep Walberg Votes to Provide Americans Relief from Health Care Tax

March 5, 2014

Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R. 4118, the SIMPLE Fairness Act, to eliminate the individual mandate penalty tax for a year under the President's health care law. H.R. 4118 passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 250-160.

"By delaying the employer mandate earlier this year President Obama has already shielded businesses from incurring penalties under his own law; it's only fair we do the same for individuals and hard working families. Between the fumbled launch and millions of cancelled plans, the last thing the President's health care law should do is penalize people for not finding a plan that works for them. This is about fairness," said Rep. Walberg following the vote.
