Rep. Walberg Votes for Increased Veterans Educational Opportunities

February 3, 2014

Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted for H.R. 357, the GI Bill Tuition Fairness Act, to expand education opportunities for veterans. The bill allows veterans to pay the in-state tuition rate at the public school of their choice and extends the amount of time veterans can receive vocational rehabilitation benefits by five years. The legislation passed the House by a vote of 390 to 0.

"Because veterans often have a difficult time establishing residency, it can be challenging for them to get into the school of their choice and receive in-state tuition rates. The GI Tuition Fairness Act is another meaningful step the House has taken to help our nation's heroes transition from the battlefield back into civilian life," said Rep. Walberg following the vote
