January 10, 2014
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Walberg voted in favor of H.R 3811, the Health Exchange Security and Transparency Act, whichwould require the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to notify individuals within 48 hours of any security breach of their personal information on the government's health insurance exchanges.
"The President's health care law has been plagued with troubles since its debut, including the failed launch of Healthcare.gov. As the site continues to undergo changes, people's personal information remains susceptible to theft. Individuals have a right to know if their personal information has been compromised and also be protected from further harm," said Rep. Walberg following the vote.
