Rep Walberg Votes for 2015 House Budget
Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Walberg voted in favor of the fiscal year 2015 Budget to bring balance to our federal budget in 10 years, reduce spending by $5.1 trillion, foster a healthy economy and create jobs. The House passed the Budget by a vote of 219 - 205 and marks the fourth consecutive year House Republicans have passed a responsible budget. In contrast, the Senate has chosen to not produce a budget this year, having only offered one budget in the last five years. The House also voted on a number of budget alternatives, including President Obama's 2015 budget proposal, which failed by a vote of 2- 413.
"The Budget illustrates the House's continued commitment to balancing the budget; putting America on a path to pay off the debt while still expanding opportunity for all hardworking taxpayers. Setting our budget priorities is what an accountable and transparent Congress is supposed to do. In doing so, I remain committed to tackling our nation's debt, cutting wasteful spending and creating a fair and simple tax code, while still providing a reliable safety net and helping our nation's most vulnerable get back on their feet." said Rep. Walberg following the vote.
