Rep Walberg Helps Introduce Legislation to Repeal Obamacare Definition of Full-Time Employment

Washington, D.C. - Today Rep Walberg helped introduce the Save American Workers (SAW) Act with Representatives Todd Young (IN), Pete Olson (TX), and Mike Kelly (PA) to repeal the 30-hour definition of "full-time employment" under the Affordable Care Act and replace it with the traditional 40-hour definition.

Rep Walberg released the following on the legislation's introduction:

"As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, I believe that repealing this redefinition of full-time employment and replacing with the traditional 40-hour standard will help protect workers and business owners. As we get closer to the January 2014 implementation of the President's health care law, it is becoming clearer that more and more hourly workers will be receiving notice of reduced hours and less work because of compliance concerns. I remain committed to protecting jobs, growing a healthy economy and stopping policies that hurt Americans but that is much more difficult with the burdensome repercussions of Obamacare standing in the way."
