Rep Walberg Calls for Reduced Spending as National Debt Hits $16 Trillion

January 25, 2013

Today, the national debt hit the record high of $16 trillion, an increase of more than 50 percent since President Obama’s ‘stimulus’ went into effect. In response, Rep Walberg released the following statement:

“For the first time in America’s history the next generation could be less prosperous and have fewer opportunities than their parents and grandparents because their government spends too much. While the president has failed to lead on this issue, House Republicans have been busy passing two budgets and capping spending at below 20% of the U.S. economy. The last thing I want to do is leave my kids and grandkids with a tab they’re unable to pay off later. And that means putting the federal government on a diet now.”
