House Votes to Provide Home Heating Relief

March 4, 2014

Washington, D.C. – Today the House passed H.R. 4076, the Home Heating Emergency Assistance Through Transportation (HHEATT) Act.

H.R 4076 will make it easier to transport propane and fuel to areas in need by increasing truck drivers' hours, alleviating the shortages that are contributing to rising household heating costs.

"Although a lover of snow, I understand it's been a particularly bad winter this year. With record snow fall and sub-zero temperatures, fuel and propane supplies are short and prices remain high in many communities throughout Michigan. While we can't control the weather, we can at least help ensure that folks across Michigan are able to keep their homes and businesses warm," said Rep. Walberg following the vote.
