WTVB: Walberg hosts 5th district constituents at indoor inaugural watch party

January 21, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVB) – With the presidential inauguration moved inside because of the frigid weather, Michigan Republican Congressman Tim Walberg hosted about 180 constituents from the Fifth District in his personal and Committee office space in the Rayburn House Office Building within the U.S. Capitol Complex on Monday.

Constituents from all ten counties of Walberg’s District attended the gathering, held in two separate Committee hearing rooms.

Walberg said in a statement released by his office, “Upon hearing the news that the 60th Inauguration would take place indoors, I was heartbroken for all the constituents who had planned to come out to witness this historic event. Right away, we got to work seeing how we could make a memorable experience for those who were looking for a place to watch. While it wasn’t what we envisioned a few weeks ago, I was honored to share this memorable day and meet many Michiganders who were eager to be on hand.”
