WLEN: Walberg Introduces Bill to Track AI’s Impact on Workforce

Congressman Tim Walberg is backing new legislation aimed at tracking how artificial intelligence is changing the American workforce.

The Michigan Republican and chairman of the House Education and Workforce Committee introduced the AWARE Act, which would require the Bureau of Labor Statistics to collect data on how employers are using AI and how the technology is affecting jobs and worker skills.

Walberg says better information is needed as AI adoption accelerates across the country.

The bill does not regulate AI or create new worker protections, but supporters say it would help policymakers better understand AI’s impact on employment and training needs.
