WLEN: Rep. Walberg Sponsors POW Priority Care Act

Congressman Tim Walberg joined Democratic representatives Raja Krishnamoorthi and Josh Gottheimer in introducing the POW Priority Care Act on Friday.

This bipartisan legislation would elevate former Prisoners of War from Priority Group 3 to Priority Group 1 in the scale used by the Department of Veterans Affairs to determine eligibility for health care benefits and services.

Walberg said in a statement, “Prisoners of War have endured the unthinkable to defend our freedoms and deserve access to timely and quality care.”

The bill was introduced as the nation commemorated POW/MIA Recognition Day.
