Buchanan student Hailey Robbins won first place with Northern Lights over Michigan, an acrylic painting on canvas. The piece depicts Robbins’ view of the Northern Lights over a Michigan farm.
Her art will be featured in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol Building.
“Each year, I’m amazed by the artistic abilities of students across Michigan’s 5th Congressional District,” said Rep. Walberg. “Thank you to all students who participated in this year’s Congressional Art Competition, and congratulations to both Hailey and Ava for creating such unique and impressive pieces that display the beauty that Michigan has to offer. Their hard work, creativity, and passion are evident in their artwork.”
Second place winner Ava Kramer from Jonesville will have her piece Downtown Michigan display in Walberg’s Jackson Office.
