South Michigan News: Rep Tim Walberg shares views on Iran nuclear threat and celebrates U.S history

June 14, 2025

Rep. Tim Walberg, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 5th district, recently shared his thoughts on various national and international issues through a series of tweets.

On June 13, 2025, Rep. Walberg expressed concerns about Iran's nuclear activities under the Biden administration. He stated, "For years, the Biden administration emboldened Iran, allowing them to continue to enrich uranium. A nuclear-armed Iran is an existential threat to Israel and the rest of the world. Iran must come to the table to prevent further conflict, and I trust that President Trump will".

The following day, June 14, 2025, he marked Flag Day by celebrating the adoption of the United States flag in 1777. In his tweet, he noted, "Happy Flag Day! In 1777, our nation's beautiful flag was officially adopted, and it remains a symbol of freedom to this day."

Later that same day, Rep. Walberg commemorated another significant event: the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. He tweeted his gratitude for those who have served in this branch of the military with these words: "Today, we celebrate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. On this historic milestone, we thank all those who have served and sacrificed for our country as members of the U.S. Army. We also recognize those who currently stand ready to protect our citizens."

Tim Walberg has been serving in Congress since replacing Mark Schauer in 2011 after previously serving in Michigan’s House from 1983 to 1999.
