Storm Update

March 31, 2025
e-Newsletter Archive

As you know, much of our district was battered by severe storms yesterday. We've been working with officials on the ground to do everything we can to assist, and I'll continue to monitor the situation. Crews are currently working to restore power to the thousands of Michiganders without it. I'm grateful to all the dedicated first responders and volunteers who are helping our communities get back on their feet.

Please stay safe during this time and check in on any neighbors or family members in need of assistance.

Important Reminders

  • For sheltering or human resources needs - Call 211
  • If the building you are in has been damaged, exit with extreme care and stay out. Look around for things that might fall or dangerous debris.
  • Do not use matches or lighters inside. If you smell gas or see spills that could be flammable, leave immediately.
  • Watch out for fallen power lines and report them to 911 and/or the utility company immediately. Please make sure to also stay at least 25 feet away from them and be extremely cautious picking up any branches as downed wires can blend in.
  • Take pictures of home damage, both of the buildings and contents, for insurance purposes.
