The House passed a budget that sets the stage for a tax reform plan that fixes our broken tax code and provides meaningful relief for middle and low-income families. The goal is to strengthen America's economic competitiveness, create better jobs with bigger paychecks, and give a pay raise to the workers who need it most. Tackling the Opioid Crisis

I was at the White House earlier this week when the President officially declared the opioid epidemic a public health emergency. Heroin and opioid addiction is devastating the dreams of people we know and love, and tackling this crisis must be a national priority. Also this week, the Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and other federal agencies about their efforts to combat the opioid crisis. Strengthening Retirement Security

I joined with Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan this week to introduce the Retirement Plan Modernization Act. Far too many families in Michigan are struggling to save for their retirement years. This bipartisan legislation is a commonsense step in our efforts to empower every American to retire with financial security and peace of mind. By reducing administrative costs, we can help more small businesses offer retirement benefits and ensure employees are not needlessly stuck paying higher fees.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The service provides an opportunity for citizens to safely and securely dispose of their expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs at an authorized disposal site in their community. Visit my website for locations across the 7th District.
