Listening to You

This week I held community gatherings in Brooklyn, Blissfield, and Carleton. The big news of the week was the Supreme Court leak, which appears to be a brazen attempt at intimidation. Inflation and the Federal Reserve's rate hike were also a major topic and there was widespread agreement that the reckless spending needs to cease. Finally, many raised concerns about President Biden’s “Disinformation Governance Board,” and I signed onto a letter this week demanding answers on this attempt from the Administration to censor speech.

Celebrating Small Business Week

This week we celebrated Small Business Week and I had the pleasure of meeting with a handful of our local job creators like Brooklyn Products, a family-owned manufacturer in Jackson County. I also attended a grand opening of a hair salon in Adrian and had a great tour of DMCI Broadband's facility in Reading, which is helping close the digital divide

Opening of FRIB at MSU

On Monday, I was honored to speak at the ribbon-cutting for Michigan State's Facility for Rare Isotope Beams. This esteemed research facility will attract the best and brightest from all over the globe to Michigan to advance innovation and scientific discovery.

Unleashing Domestic Energy

Energy prices continue to soar. Michigan saw the highest gasoline spike in the entire country last week. In Congress, I have been advocating for unleashing American energy, yet many officials continue to wage a war on American energy. On Friday, I visited Toledo Refinery Company, a refinery that receives oil from Line 5. Shutting down the pipeline would cripple jet fuel supplies for Detroit Metro Airport, jeopardize good-paying jobs, and exacerbate the energy crisis families are already confronting.

Upcoming Service Academy Fair

On Thursday, May 12, at 6PM, I will be hosting a virtual military service academy fair for students and parents to learn about educational opportunities at the service academies. Representatives from these institutions will answer questions and outline the nomination process.
