Sue and I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family. At times, this year has presented challenges but the future is bright. America's best days are ahead of us. May you have cherished time with loved ones and the opportunity to reflect on the many blessings we have as Americans.
It was an honor to surprise Greg O'Connor on the last day of his remarkable broadcasting career and present a congressional tribute. For the past 40 years, Greg has been one of the most recognizable voices in Jackson and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our community. We will sorely miss hearing Greg over the airwaves.
On Sunday, I had another great honor, presenting a congressional tribute at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter for their 50th Celebration Dinner. Together, we celebrated the founder Beverly Garges, who opened the first shelter in Jackson in 1974, offering hope to the Jackson community. Today, the shelter, under the leadership of President and CEO Steve Castle is still living out Beverly’s vision as they prepare to open a new phase of family housing.
