Fighting for American Energy, Lower Prices

Fighting for American Energy Independence, Lower PricesFrom the beginning of his presidency, Joe Biden has systematically dismantled America’s energy independence in favor of his extreme rush-to-green agenda. This week, OPEC+ announced it would cut production by 2 million barrels per day, despite President Biden’s trip to Saudi Arabia earlier this year to beg for more oil production. This shows how dangerous it is for the Biden administration to depend on foreign countries instead of ramping up energy production here at home. There is no doubt that President Biden’s anti-energy policies will once again lead to higher prices for Michigan families. |
Committing to AccountabilityAt every turn, the Biden administration has politicized agencies, abused their power, and undermined the Constitution. Oversight is long overdue. In the House Republicans' Commitment to America, constitutional freedoms will be preserved, Washington will be held accountable, and the voice of the people will be restored. Addressing the Border CrisisRecently, I worked with my colleagues to send a letter to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Chris Magnus noting it is unacceptable the agencies are failing to fulfill their mission and protect and defend our southern border. Hearing from ManufacturersOn National Manufacturing Day, I had the privilege of celebrating our state’s manufacturing sector by visiting a number of local job creators in Monroe County. I made visits to Ort Tool & Die, Premier Industries Corporation, and Spartan Steel Coating, where I had the opportunity to talk with workers and students about the importance of apprenticeships and career and technical education. To boost Michigan manufacturing, it is critical to redouble our efforts to build a talent pipeline to fill in-demand jobs and inspire today’s students to pursue rewarding careers in the fields of manufacturing and technology. |
Protecting Access for Hunters and AnglersLast week, I worked with over 30 of my colleagues in introducing the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act. This legislation would block the Biden administration's bans on traditional ammunition and fishing tackle unless this recommendation is supported by science and is consistent with state law. By advancing this legislation, we can ensure hunters and anglers have access to federal lands and waters to continue their safe recreation and conservation. |
Walking to End Alzheimer'sThis past weekend, Sue and I had the honor of participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Adrian. The local organizers and volunteers do such a tremendous job organizing this important event and we're so grateful for their dedication. |
