On Wednesday, the Education and the Workforce Committee voted to advance my bill, the Parental Rights Over the Education and Care of Their (PROTECT) Kids Act. The PROTECT Kids Act would safeguard parental rights by requiring that any federally funded elementary or middle school seek and acquire parental consent before changing their child’s pronouns, gender markers, or preferred name on any school form. This also includes allowing a child to change their sex-based accommodations, such as locker rooms or bathrooms. Parents must have a seat at the table for every discussion related to their children, especially when it comes to children as young as five years old. I remain committed to defending the rights of parents.

This week, the House passed numerous pieces of legislation to counter the ever-growing ideological, economic, surveillance, and technological threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Included was the End Chinese Dominance of Electric Vehicles in America Act, which would close loopholes to ensure that vehicles produced by Chinese companies are ineligible for the 30D electric vehicle tax credit available to American consumers. I also supported the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act, which makes it more difficult for the CCP to buy up American farmland. Please know I will continue to counter China’s threats to our national security and maintain our competitive edge in emerging technologies.

The Education and the Workforce Committee voted this week to pass my legislation to block the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to block access to quality and affordable health care options through Association Health Plans (AHP). In 2018, the Trump administration published its AHP rule, which produced average savings of 29% and helped small businesses compete. However, Democratic attorney generals sued to try to block the rule, and since then, the Biden-Harris administration has continued to try to rescind this rule. I will continue to fight against the misguided policies of the Biden-Harris administration that hurt our small businesses.

Recently, I led my colleagues in expressing concerns with Meta after recent reports of hundreds of illicit drug advertisements on their platforms. While illicit drugs are being advertised, we've seen them censor Hillsdale College, USA Shooting, and the film Reagan, among many other instances. In Meta’s response to my letter, Meta refused to acknowledge that these illicit drug ads were approved and monetized by Meta and allowed to run on their platforms. Meta must be held responsible for its negligence and the impact it has had on users, including children and teenagers.

As a nation, we pause to mourn and remember the 2,977 Americans who lost their lives in the unthinkable terrorist attack that occurred 23 years ago. We will never forgot the countless acts of bravery and the sacrifices made by first responders and everyday Americans.
