2025 Recap

2025 has been one of the most productive years in Congress in recent memory. I've continued visiting communities across Michigan's 5th District to meet with constituents, job creators, and local leaders. Our teams in Jackson and Niles have continued to assist constituents with casework and are always here to help cut through red tape.
I've introduced six bills that have passed the House this year and will rein in wasteful spending, improve health care access, protect the Great Lakes, promote innovation in wireless technologies, and increase transparency regarding foreign influence in our institutions of higher education.
This year, it has been a privilege to lead the Education and Workforce Committee, where I helped usher through legislation to empower parents, incentivize workforce training, improve government efficiency, and support American innovators and job creators.
My committee's portion of the Working Families Tax Cuts, also known as the Student Success and Taxpayer Savings Plan, saved taxpayers over $281 billion while simplifying loan repayment, streamlining student loan options, and expanding Workforce Pell to help workers gain the skills they need to compete in the modern economy.
This historic legislation also prevented the largest tax hike in American history, preventing residents of MI-05 from seeing a 27% increase. The legislation will also increase take-home pay by up to $11,700 and includes vital provisions like no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security for 88% of recipients to provide further economic relief to hardworking Michiganders.
In the coming year, I look forward to continuing to traverse the district and delivering more legislative wins for MI-05.
It is truly an honor to serve you in Congress.
