Congressional App Challenge
I would like to invite middle school and high school students in Michigan's 7th District to participate in the 2018 Congressional App Challenge (CAC). The CAC promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education by providing the opportunity for a student or a team of students to design and program an app. An app is a piece of software made to run on a computer, smart phone, or other electronic device. Students may create any type of app they like (web, PC, tablet, mobile or other platform of their choice).
Each congressional district will select a winning app. The 2018 CAC runs from June 4 through October 15, 2018. There will incentives for registering by September 10, 2018. Local judges selected by my office will subsequently evaluate the submissions and select a winning app, which will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building along with winners from other congressional districts across the country.
Important updates and details regarding eligibility, submission requirements, registration, pertinent dates, and resources for students can be found at www.congressionalappchallenge.us. The 2017 CAC winners and their apps can also be found on the website. Please call my Jackson District Office at 517-780-9075 or email Leeann.Yamakawa@mail.house.gov with any questions. Good luck!
