Walberg Statement on Pelosi’s $3 Trillion Spending Bill

May 15, 2020
Press Release

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) released the following statement after voting against Speaker Pelosi’s 1,800-page, $3 trillion spending bill featuring far-left policies that pre-date COVID-19 and are unrelated to the crisis at hand.
"Speaker Pelosi’s one-sided bill was crafted by Democratic leadership behind closed doors with no input from Republicans. It has zero chance of passing the Senate or becoming law. What’s more, we have yet to fully distribute all the federal funds from previous bills or examine the impact of those efforts. Up to this point, the Coronavirus response legislation passed by the House has been overwhelmingly bipartisan in nature. We need to get back to that collaborative approach and turn our attention to bipartisan, targeted relief to help our communities overcome this pandemic."
