My Statement on Impeachment


The never-ending, all-consuming quest for impeachment is detrimental to the country and grinds to a halt any type of important policy work. Our focus should be on the pocketbook issues that matter to our constituents’ daily lives.

Combating Human Trafficking 


Human trafficking is a a heinous crime that occurs right in our own backyard. Recently, I introduced the Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act, a bipartisan bill to strengthen federal efforts to recognize and respond to the signs of human trafficking. Often Department of Labor employees are on the front lines of visiting and inspecting workplaces, and our bipartisan bill ensures they are properly trained to detect patterns of labor exploitation and refer cases to law enforcement.

Fighting for Lower Drug Prices


While the cost of prescription drugs desperately needs to be addressed, Speaker Pelosi abandoned bipartisan efforts to bring down prices and instead opted for a radical, partisan approach. Washington needs to come together to find solutions with transparency rather than crafting legislation behind closed doors and politicizing an issue that brings most Americans together. Ensuring America's Wireless Leadership


As a co-chair of the 5G Caucus, this week I introduced the Promoting U.S. Wireless Leadership Act, which promotes U.S. competitiveness in international wireless standards-setting bodies. This bipartisan bill reflects the need for a unified approach to pushing back against international competitors like Russia and China to protect U.S. national security, global competitiveness, and cost-effectiveness of wireless communications. Honoring a Local Hero


William McVey of Jackson was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, and it was a privilege to welcome his family to our nation's capital. McVey, and his entire M4A1 Sherman tank crew, received this high honor because of their heroism during World War II. Our nation is forever grateful.
