Expanding Career and Technical Education

In today’s economy, we know that not everyone follows the same path into the workforce. As I meet with educators, workers, and manufacturers across the district, I consistently hear about the need to improve career and technical education programs and close the skills gap. Invasive species like Asian carp pose a real threat to the Great Lakes ecosystem. On Friday, we learned troubling news that one was discovered just nine miles from Lake Michigan, increasing the urgency to take bipartisan, commonsense steps to protect the Great Lakes. These long-overdue reforms will help make a real difference for veterans and their families, and I am delighted that President Trump has signed this bipartisan bill into law.
