Veterans Resource Fair in Lansing

Image

This week, we hosted a Veterans Resource Fair at VFW Post 701 in Lansing along with Representative Elissa Slotkin. It was a privilege to meet and assist the many veterans who attended.  These fairs help connect veterans and their families with the resources they earned through service to our country. We are grateful to all the veterans organizations who joined us, along with my constituent services team, who assist our veterans each day. Click here to watch a report by WLNS-TV from the event.

Friend of Farm Bureau Award

I was able to hear from members of both the Hillsdale County and Eaton County Farm Bureau. We discussed many priorities for farmers, ranging from the USMCA to mental health awareness. In Charlotte, I was honored to receive the “Friend of the Farm Bureau” award for my voting record on behalf of farmers in Michigan, which is such a critical industry to our economy.

Meeting with Manufacturers

This week,  I stopped by a number of manufacturing facilities in the district, including American Tooling Center in Grass Lake, Eaton Aeroquip in Jackson, and Spartan Motors in Charlotte. Michigan's economy relies on a robust manufacturing sector and a skilled workforce that meets the growing demands of our economy.

Visiting disAbility Connections

I had the opportunity to visit disAbility Connections to learn more about the services they provide in Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale Counties. After touring the facility, I met with staff and volunteers to discuss the work they do to help people with disabilities live independent and fulfilling lives.

Hearing from Small Businesses

The Eaton Rapids Chamber hosted a round table discussion, which I participated in, focusing on the issues facing local small businesses. After the meeting, I presented a special tribute to Pettit Hardware, a family-owned business that has been a pillar in the community for 133 years.
