Washington, D.C. – Rep Walberg released the following statement following the Senate’s refusal to meet with House members:

“We deserve better. Last evening the House passed a plan, which attracted bipartisan support, to keep the government open and protect taxpayers, but this morning the Senate Democrats voted against even meeting with the House to sort out our differences.

Michigan families and businesses deserve a lot better than the Democratic-controlled Senate’s insistence on allowing the President to give only the politically connected waivers from Obamacare.

While the President and the Senate insist on keeping the phone lines open with Iran, Syria, and Putin, they refuse to even talk with the House about a compromised way to move this country forward. We deserve better.”
