Congressional Art Competition

Return to Constituent Services

I would like to invite all high school art students to participate in the Congressional Art Competition. Each year many high school aged students from around the country enter their artwork in this contest. Each participating congressional district chooses a winning entry, and the winning piece of art is then displayed for an entire year in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., along with the winners from all the other congressional districts across the country.

The exact guidelines for artwork submissions can be found on the Congressional Art Competition website. The Student Release Form can be found here. Any other questions that you may have can be answered by calling my Jackson District Office at 517-780-9075 or emailing Leeann.Yamakawa@mail.house.gov

The size of the artwork should not exceed 26” high x 26” wide x 4" deep, including the frame. Please note that this size requirement is different from previous years. Entries should be photographed and emailed with a copy of the 2017 Student Release form to Leeann.Yamakawa@mail.house.gov by midnight on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. We cannot accept any submissions after the deadline. All students submitting artwork to the competition will receive a participation certificate. Good luck!
